Sliding patio-door systems may have glass in the operating panel, the fixed adjacent panel or both. We identify which panel is damaged, check the frame, track and door movement, and confirm whether temporary protection or direct replacement is appropriate.

Secure the opening when replacement glass is not ready

Large patio-door panels often require exact measurements and the correct safety-glass or insulated-glass specification. If the opening is exposed before the correct panel is ready, BoardUp installs temporary protection sized for the damaged opening.

Replace the glass in a serviceable door system

After measurements and glass requirements are confirmed, the damaged panel is replaced in the existing sliding-door system when the surrounding panel and frame remain suitable. Door or track problems outside the glass are assessed separately.

If insurance may be involved

If the glass was damaged by a break-in, vandalism, storm or impact, photograph the complete door and close-up damage before cleanup when it is safe. BoardUp can provide job photos and an itemized invoice on request. Your insurer or adjuster determines coverage.

From a safe position, send the complete patio-door system from inside, the damaged panel, the frame and track, and an exterior photo when it can be taken safely. Tell us whether the sliding panel still moves and locks.
